This ship, Amsterdam, is a kind of ship the Dutch called an East Indiaman, which was the cargo ship of choice for Dutch traders in the 17th and 18th centuries. The Amsterdam docked at the Maritime Museum in Amsterdam is a 1990 replica of the original Amsterdam that sunk off the coast of England on its maiden voyage in 1749.
